Zindagii youN thii kii jeene kaa bahaanaa tuu thaa
ham faqt zaib-e-hikayet thay fasaanaa tuu thaa

Ham ne jis jis ko bhii chahaa tere hijraaN maiN wo log
aate jaate huway mosam thay zamaanaa tuu thaa

ab ke kuch diil hii na manaa ke plet ke aatay
werna ham der-ba-darouN kaa tu thikanaa tuu thaa

Yaar aghyaar ke haathouN maiN kamaanaiN thii Fraz
aur sab daikh rahe thay ke Nishanaa tuu thaa
