Hamay koi gham nahin tha, gham-e-aashqi say pehlay,
Na thi dushmani kisi say, teri dosti say pehlay !

Hai yeh meri badnaseebi tera kya kasoor ismay,
Teray gham nay maar daala mujhay zindagi say pehlay !

Mera pyaar jal raha hai aray chaand aaj chup jaa,
Kabhi pyaar tha hamay bhi teri chaandni say pehlay !

Main kabhi na muskarata jo mujhay yeh ilm hota,
Ki hazaron gham milengay mujhay ik khushi say pehlay !

Yeh ajeeb imtehaan hai ki tumhi ko boolna hai,
Milay kab they is tarah hum tumhay bedilli say pehlay !
