Jo aansoo dil mein girtey hein wo aankhoon mein nahi rehte
Buhat se haarf aise hein jo lafzon mein nahi rehte

Kitaabon mein likhey jaatey hein dunya bhar kay afsaaney
Magar jin mein haqeeqat ho wo kitabon mein nahi rehte

Bahaa’r aaye to har aik phool pe saath aati hai
Hawa jin ka muqaddar ho wo shakhon mein nahi rehte

Liye phirtey hein kuch ehbaab aise muztarib lamhey
Jahan darbaar mil jaaye jabeenon mein nahi rehte

Mehek aur titlioon ka naam bhanwrey se juda kion ho
Kay yeh bhi to khizaan aaney pe phoolon mein nahi rehte...
