The card attached was addressed to me I couldn’t believe my eyes for the words I read My legs went weak and I felt light in the head “I am fascinated by your beauty you see, I watch you everyday by the big Oak Tree. Time passed so slowly, waiting with glee I wanted to know who this man could be Then came a tapping on my front door There stood a delivery boy with roses galore! Beautiful lavender roses like amethysts of ice Another thoughtful gift meant to entice? Thinking to myself what could these mean? As I opened the prettiest card I had ever seen “To my enchanted Angel, won’t you dine with me tonight? Dinner under the moon by romantic candlelight Meet me by the big Oak Tree around nine o’clock We will walk down to my boat tied up to the dock I will row you around the lake in the brisk night air Oh, please oh please, won’t you meet me there?” Fear of anticipation ran hot under my skin My lonely heart I wanted this man to win In a silken dress of the darkest of blues I walked outside amongst the shadows and hues. Nine o’clock sharp I arrived at the tree To find him there, waiting ever so patiently. {Lavender roses represent love at first site, enchantment, and uniqueness |

Taking my stroll under the stars to the tree I find my secret admire waiting with glee From behind his back he reveals a pink rose And presents it with a poem in prose The lines were as sweet as the rose did smell I was falling in love already I could tell Keeping his word we ate by candlelight And took a water voyage in the dead of night Strolling homeward, we talked for hours Of the crush he had and sending me flowers He kissed me gently on my porch by the door And presented me with a pink rose once more This rose was different, a deeper pink blush With the events of the evening I was feeling quite flush This strange dark eyed man that had swept me away Was more enchanting than words could say My heart was sad for the evening was at an end Knowing already I had found a lover and a friend I entered my home, as I let go of his hand He said he’d see me again in Never Neverland “My dreams will be filled of your sweet grace Dressed in angel white, satin, and lace.” {Light pink roses represent grace, admiration, and friendship} {Dark pink roses represent thankfulness} |

Time had past, our marriage had grown A night of passion, a seed we had sown Mother in waiting, skin all aglow Within her womb a child did grow Months of preparation for the wee little one Wondering if it was a daughter or a son The day we had wished for came so fast Birth of our child had come at last Water breaking with a rush of fear “Will I be a good mom,” I said with a tear Hours of labor, surges of intense pain Then tears of joy came like rain She was here, our tiny little girl Holding her, my precious white pearl With a smile my husband revealed A yellow rose he had kept concealed Then he added a rose of pure red “I love you with all my heart,” he gently said Taking our babe in his strong embrace Seeing an angel in her tiny new face Reflecting upon a family built through a dream.
