Sindh CM advises flood affectees to go on a picnic
Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah has given unique advise to flood-affected people. He said that the affectees should go on a picnic for 10-15 days. He said that earlier Punjab denied water for Sindh and now it says that Sindh itself should manage water of rains and floods. Talking to media on Sakhar airport, he said that water from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab was entering into Sindh and the provincial government was alert to take steps in this regard. He said that Guddu Barrage has capacity to pass 13 lac cusecs of water but Sakhar Barrage can pass 9 lac cusecs water and ‘we are taking steps for water passage.’ He said that people living in Kachi abadis didn’t want to get out of there, so section 144 has been imposed and DCOs have been directed to transfer these people to safe places. These people would be provided medical facilities and food. He said that Sindh Cabinet meeting has been called to discuss the flood and rains issue. |
