Make Vista shut down quicker. Click start and type in search box regedit. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet/control On the right you will see at the bottom of the list: WaitToKillServicetimeout. Right click on WaitToKillServicetimeout and choose modify. It shows 20000 you can lower this to no lower than 5000. Exit. |

Add your name to system clock. Click start/control panel/change date,time or number format. On the formats tab click customize this format button. Under time tab you see listed Time format 18: 10: 25. Ok well make it look like this:18: 10: 25-ABC as an example. In the AM and PM tabs you can make them look like this AM-Jelly Bean,PM-Jelly Bean. You can choose upto 12 letters in each field. Click apply and exit. Works for XP also. |

Halt that annoying prospone 4 hours restart after windows update. Click start and type in search box cmd In command prompt window type net stop "windows update" this will stop that annoying popup restart/pospone windows update. However once you manualy restart your computer that popup will be back so back to cmd to stop that darn popup. You are done now. |

Hide selective programs/applications listed in Add/Remove: Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall Locate the program in question in the left pane. In the right pane, right click DisplayName and select rename: Add Quiet So it will read: QuietDisplayName. No reboot or refresh needed. Open Add or Remove - the listing is now gone. To revert, rename back to DisplayName. |

Task Manager as a desktop Gadget. Open Task mamager. Click on Performance tab. Double click in the center area. Use a Screen Saver as your desktop background. Open a command prompt. Type in: aurora.scr /p65552 hit enter on your keyboard. Close command prompt. Other commands you can use: ribbons.scr mystify.scr sstext3d.scr |
