When I Found You

I found depths of unlit darkness,
till I came to Your guiding light
I found drowning oceans of tears,
till I boarded Your ark of salvation
I found only dry withered flowers,
till I absorbed Your nourishing care
I found fading mountains of gold,
till I came to the jewel of the night
I found dry cracked riverbeds,
till I stepped in the river of love
I found shifting deserts of doubt and gloom,
till I came to Your garden of certainty
I found me, and despaired at my state,
till finally, I found You
And acknowledged
What indeed, has he found, he who lost You; and
What did he lose, he who found You.
