A Rose in a Dark World




Looking down a twisted tunnel of lies and deceit
A tunnel with no light to be seen
I reflect on the life I lived and the steps I've made
Recalling my mistakes and the pain
I don't regret a single one
I don't regret the choices I've made even the one
The one that put me at the entrance
The entrance of the dark world I stare into now
My regret is that those choices are taking me away
Away from my rose of thorns
The rose I found in the midst of the orchids
My rose made life mean something
Brightened my days and saved my ways
