As-Salaam alaykum,
In Ayat 92 of Surta Ali-Imran of the Holy Qur'an (3:92), Allah Ta'ala says:--
"YOU SHALL NOT ATTAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTIL YOU SPEND (Benevolently) OUT OF
WHAT YOU LOVE. AND WHATSOEVER YOU SPEND, ALLAH IS AWARE THEREOF."
Related to this, Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, again says in Ayat 31 of Surat Ibrahim:--
"TELL THOSE OF MY SERVANTS WHO BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD ESTABLISH THE
PRAYER [Sallah], AND SPEND OUT OF WHAT WE HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH, BOTH
SECRETLY AND OPENLY, BEFORE ARRIVAL OF THE DAY WHEN THERE WILL BE NO
BARGAINING, NOR ANY MUTUAL BEFRIENDING."
On this, someone asked the beloved Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, 'What actions are most excellent'? and he replied:-
"To gladden the heart of a human being, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted,
to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the wrongs of the injured." [Sahih Bukhari].
