Ye shan-o-shokat aakhir tumhaiN kisay dikhanii thii

pal rahe thay hijar maiN shehr ke sabhii log
Daastaan-e-shikastaa dill ab kisay sunaanii thii

Kis pe ters khaate ke hamare haal kaa koi mehram na thaa
shakh-e-gull weeraaN paDii thii kaantouN ki hukmaraanii thii

Tasulsl-e-khuwaab tu toot chukaa thaa mager Waheed
KhyalouN maiN ab behktii huwii zoo-fishaanii thii
