Hum tere ahd ke paimaaN naheeN rahe
Lut chuke mager raigaaN nahi rahe

ham bhi safr-e-koocha-e-malamat ko thay
chalk mager hamare graibaaN nahi rahe

dil maiN rahe tamam umer kai mehrbaan log
shehr-e-sukhn ke ju mehmaaN nahi rahe

wo phir khuwab-e-tamna dikhane ko aaye haiN
ham manzil-e-aseer-e-karwaaN nahi rahe

Jalte rahaiN charagh yaaraan-e-watn waheed
itne ujar chuke haiN ghar ke toofaaN nahi rahe.
