Meri nanhi si gurriya!
Aaj baahir na nikal
Kia tujh ko maloom nahi...?
Aaj suraj-garhan hai
Riwayat kehti hai
Suraj-garhan ho to
Dekhne se aankhen beenai khho deti hain
Chehre murja jaate hain
Un pe zardi chha jaati hai
Mahekte tan-o-man kamla jaate hain
Phool orrh lete hain zard ruton k pairhan
Bahaaren khizaan main dhhal jaati hain
Yahan tak k samander k bhanwar
Aur zameen k maddo-jazar bhi badal jaate hain...!

Meri gurriya!
Tu baahir na nikal
K teri ghazaali aankhen aur ro-pehle chehre ko
Kahin chaat na le ye suraj-garhan...!

Magar aaj maa ko bataaye kon
Us ki gurriya ko
Jise zard na ker saka suraj-garhan
Usay das gaya mohabbat ka chaand-garhan...!!!
