Ye na thi hamari qismat, k visaal-e-yaar hota
Agar aur jeete rehte, yehi intezaar hota

Tere waade par jeye hum, to ye jaan jhoot jana
K khushi say mar na jaate, agar aitbaar hota

Rug-e-sung say tapakta, wo lahoo k phir na thumta
Jese ghum samajh rahay ho, ye agar sharaar hota

Kahoon kiss se main ke kya hai, shab-e-ghum buri bala hai
Mujhay kya bura tha marna, agar aik baar hota

Huwe mar k hum jo rusva, huwe kyun na gharq-e-darya
Na kabhi janaza uth’ta, na kahin mazaar hota

Ye masail-e-tasav’vuf, ye tera bayan “Ghalib”
Tujhay hum wali samajhte, jo na baada khuwar hota..!!!
