Ear- Cleaning the ear is a regular part of a mans hygiene. Anatomically the ear is divided into three parts, the outer ear, or pinna, the middle ear and the inner ear. To keep it healthy, you just need to maintain the hygiene on the outer side i.e. the entrance of the ear canal leading to the drum by cleaning out the wax.
The wax is produced by the small glands present in the ear and their basic function is trap dirt and grime, thus protecting the ear from infections. But a build up of this wax can make a person uncomfortable, upset their balance and produce ringing sensation in the ear called as tinnitus.
While cleaning the ear, it is important to use a soft, cotton ear bud and gently scrap out the dirt. Harsh, metallic instruments can cause internal trauma. The best way to do this is to clean the ear after a shower as the wax is moist and easier to remove. Cleaning the ear everyday is also harmful, as it can remove the protective barrier that the wax forms. Depending on the wax production, the cleaning should be well spaced out within the week
Nose Cleaning the nose using water helps to get rid of the infections and debris and dried up mucous lining up mucous membrane of nose. The best way to clean them up is by using a small kettle or pot. Fill that up with salt water, tilt your head above a basin, hole your breath and let the water flow in. This has to be done carefully, so that the water does not flow into the wind pipe.
This salt water matches the pH of the nose, so the inner linings do not burn. Follow up this process and rinse the whole nasal pathway. This can be done once in 15 days. Long term practice brings relief from common cold and sinus by cleaning the nose in this manner.
Another thing that can be done is by cleaning the nose digitally (using fingers). But this is best done privately, preferably after a shower.
