ishq me.n jaa.N se guzarate hai.n guzarane vaale
maut kii raah nahii.n dekhate marane vaale

aaKhirii vaqt bhii puuraa na kiyaa vaadaa-e-vasl
aap aate hii rahe mar gaye marane vaale

uThe aur kuuchaa-e-mahabuub me.n pahu.Nche aashiq
ye musaafir nahii.n raaste me.n Thaharane vaale

jaan dene kaa kahaa mai.n ne to ha.Ns kar bole
tum salaamat raho har roz ke marane vaale

aasmaa.N pe jo sitaare nazar aaye 'Ameer'
yaad aaye mujhe daaG apane ubharane vaale

Kabhi zindagi me kisik liay mut rona**
q k vo''tumhare ansoun k kabil nahi ho ga''
or ''vo'' jo is ''kabil'' ho ga vo tumhe ''rone'' nahi de ga''*****
