Mein jo mehka to meri shaakh jala di us ne,
Sabz mousam mein mujhay zard hawa di us nay!

Pehlay ik lamhay ki zanjeer se bandha mujh ko,
Or phir waqt ki raftaar barrha di us nay!

Meri nakaam muhabbat mujhay wapis kar di,
Youn meray haath meri laash thama di us nay!

Janta tha k mujhay maut sakoon bakhshay gi,
Woh sitam-gar tha... so jeenay ki dua di us nay!!
