dostii to udaas kartii nahiiN

ham hameshaa ke sair-chashm sahii
tujh ko dekheN to aaNkh bhartii nahiiN

shab-e-hijraaN bhii roz-e-bad kii taraH
kaT to jaatii hai par guzartii nahiiN

ye mohabbat hai, sun, zamaane, sun!
itnii aasaaniyoN se martii nahiiN

jis taraH tum guzaarte ho Faraaz
zindagii us taraH guzartii nahiiN....
