Tum ko to ma'loom hi hoga zamaane ka chalan !
"Jaane waale ko bhulaana", ham bhi seekhein ge ye fan !

Qais ka qissa ho ya meri wafa ki daastaa(n)
Ishq ki shidat wohi hai, shehr ho chaahe ho ban

Wo bechaara bhi amaawas ki shabon mein bujh gaya
Chaand, jo khud ko kaha karta tha, "main hoon shab-shikan"

Zindagi k aakhri ayyaam, yaadon k azaab
Aur barrh jaati hai yaaro umr-e-rafta ki thakan !

Larrkiyon ki zindagi mein hai hi kya is k siva !
Chand sapne, chand dhoke aur nazron ki chubhan !
