Shahar khamosh hai jese
Sadaeyn so gaen thak kar
Musafir ja choke sare
Dariche apni ankhen band kiey
Ab so gaey honge
Gharon se jhakne wale bhi
Patthar ho gaey honge

Kahin khamosh peron par
Parinde phar pharaeyn toh
Sada on ki nahin ati
Yaha peron kay patton tak
Hawa ab kay nahin ati

Deewaren itni onchi hen
Yaha kay rehne walon ki
Kahin se din gozar jaey
Koi ghot ghot kay mar jaey
Koi bhuka musafir bhi
Kisi ja par thahar jaey
Khabar kuch bhi nahin hoti
Khabar gar ho bhi jaey to
Asar kuch bhi nahin hota

Yeh sang o ahan ki busti
Yaha kay qaid khano men
Koi mange toh kia mange
Koi chahe toh kia chahe
Shahar khamosh hai jese
Sadaeyn so gaen thak kar
