Pakistan News: WASHINGTON The high-level talks that were held between Pakistan and India over Indus Water Treaty remained unsuccessful at the headquarters of the World Bank in Washington. India could not clear Pakistan’s reservations in the two-day negotiations regarding Kishanganga (330 megawatts) and Ratle (850 megawatts) hydroelectric power plants that it is building. Pakistani delegation, headed by Secretary Water Resources Division Arif Ahmed Khan, demanded the World Bank to form arbitration court panel according to the agreement. Secretary Water and Power Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, Indus Water High Commissioner to Pakistan Mirza Asif Baig and Joint Secretary Water Syed Mehar Ali Shah were the other representatives. The previous discussions were held between both countries on August 1 in which it was decided that both contingents would consult with their respective governments on certain issues, and hold another session afterwards.
