Jaate jaate vo mujhe achchhi nishani de gaya
Umr bhar dohraunga aisi kahani de gaya

Uss se main kuchh pa saku aisi kahan ummeed thi
Gham bhi vo shaayad baraaye meharbani de gaya

Sab hawaye le gaya mere samandar ki koi
Aur mujhko ek kashti baadbaani de gaya

Khair main pyasa rahi, par usne itna to kiya
Meri palko ki qataro ko vo paani de gaya
