Tweak Your Processor!
Windows XP is optimized for processors having 256KB of Level2 cache.
However, many of today's processors have more than this.
Find out how much Level2 cache your processor has and carry out the following tweak.
-Navigate to the registry branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\SessionManager\Memory Management.
-Create a new DWORD under this branch called 'SecondLevelDataCache' And assign it a value corresponding to the amount of your processor's Level2 cache.
(for example, 512 or 1024 in the case of 512KB or 1MB respectively.)
-Restart Windows and you will should see a further increase in performance of your system!
