Often in Internal Relations, this specific dilemma is accounted for the Arms races between several countries.
History is filled with examples of such security dilemmas. In South Asian Context, an example of this cud be seen first when India was Insecure from Chinese increasing military and technological abilities and thus they opted for Nuclear option and consequently it made Pakistan more insecure and finally they also opted for it.
Informative Term with very eleborating example

AIT

AIT advanced infantry training is the program of physical and mental training required in order for an individual to become a soldier in the United States Army, United States Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. It is carried out at several different Army posts around the United States. Basic Training is designed to be highly intense and challenging. The challenge comes as much from the difficulty of physical training as it does from the required quick psychological adjustment to an unfamiliar way of life.

SSG ( Special Services Group)

Its a part of Pakistan Army which is divided into 24 companies or units. Each company had specialization units, specialized in desert, mountain, ranger, and underwater warfare. SSG units have also been seconded in covert operations in Afghanistan during the Afghan war, as air marshals on passenger airlines and as VIP security. At present, the SSG maintains its headquarters at Cherat and runs the Airborne School at Peshawar. Two SSG battalions are normally rotated through Cherat with a third battalion divided between the border and other strategic locations such as the Terbella Dam and nuclear research facilities. Each SSG battalion numbers 700 men in four companies. Each company is split into platoons and further sub-divided into 10 men teams. Battalions are commanded by Lieutenant Colonels, the group is currently run by a Colonel .

BW (Biological Weapons)

Biological warfare (also known as germ warfare) is the use of biological toxins or infectious agents such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi with intent to kill or incapacitate humans, animals or plants as an act of war. Biological weapons (often termed "bio-weapons" or "bio-agents") are living organisms or replicating entities (viruses) that reproduce or replicate within their host victims.
