چلو کچھ دیر ہنستے ہیں
محبت پر، عنایت پر
کہ بے بنیاد ہیں باتیں
سبھی رشتے ، سبھی ناتے
ضرورت کی ہیں ایجادیں
کہیں کوئی نہیں مرتا
کسی کی واسطے جاناں
کہ سب ہے پھیر لفظوں کا
ہے سارا کھیل حرفوں کا
نہ ہے محبوب کوئی بھی
سبھی جملے سے کستے ہیں
چلو کچھ دیر ہنستے ہیں
جسے ہم زیست کہتے ہیں
کہ لینا سانس بن جس کے
ہمیں ایک جرم لگتا تھا
کہ سنگ جس کے ہر اک لمحہ
خوش و خرم سا لگتا تھا
جسے ہم زندگی کہتے
جسے ہم شاعری کہتے
غزل کا قافیہ تھا جو
نظم کا جو عنوان تھا
وہ لہجہ جب بدلتا تھا
قیامت خیز لگتا تھا
وقت سے آگے چلتا تھا
بلا کا تیز لگتا تھا
جو سایہ بن کے رہتا تھ
جدا اب اس کے رستے ہیں
چلو کچھ دیر ہنستے ہیں
