Aik hii raat kaa dukh thaa so guzer gaii
lekin ye kesi Khushboo rooH maiN uter gaii

Shab-e-wasal kii Justajoo kabhi kii hii nahii
Shab-e-firaq ju kal thi wo aaj bhi Tehr gaii

Usay rokne ki mujh maiN kia majal thii
kal bhi chali gaii thii wo aaj bhi guzer gaii

Dill ko us ka intizaar thaa aur nahi bhi Waheed
Bas ek umeed thii aur zindagii guzer gaii
