Husn thaa shabab thaa, raqs thaa rubaab thaa
Magar afsos maiN tu Meh-ve-khuwwab thaa

shahar maiN aaj baarish thii aur phisalne ka der bhii
Mujhe us se milne jana thaa magar rasta kharab thaa

na jane kia us ne mujhe haath maiN thamaa diyaa thaa
maiN ne muuthii khol ke dekha tu kaghz ka gulab thaa

Us ke gar ke drawing room ka saman buht hi nayaab thaa
Dosrii taraf PaayeeN baagh maiN paanii kaa taalaab thaa

ab kisi kii tareef karne maiN tujhe kiaa Uzer thaa Waheed
is kaam ko karne ka na koi gunaah thaa na sawaab thaa
