Ye aur bat teri gali main na aye hum
lekin ye kya ki shahar tera chor jaye hum

muddat hoi hai ku-e-buta ki taraf gaye
awargi se dil ko kahan tak bachaye hum

hayad baqaid-e-zist ye saat na a sake
tum dastan-e-shaoq suno aur sunaye hum

enor ho chuki hai bahut shahar ki faza
tarik rastoo main kahin kho na jaye hum

us ke bagair aj bahut ji udas hai
`Jalib` chalo kahin se use dhoondh laye hum
