Kehne ko wo pehli chaahat thi
Wo jis mein junoo(n) tha, shiddat thi
Paakeeza thi, anmol thi wo
Khaabon k jahaa(n) ki ulfat thi
Mehboob ko bhi ma'loom na tha
Aaisi khaamosh mohabbat thi
Khaamosh rahi be-kaar hui
Na jeet hui na haar hui
Phir waqt ne apni chaal chali
Wo furqat se do-chaar hui
Kaisi khaamosh mohabbat thi
Gulzaar se phir wo khaar hui
Furqat se junoo(n) mein aag lagi
Is dil k sukoo(n) mein aag lagi
Ashkon ki larri aankhon se bandhi
Is jism k khoo(n) mein aag lagi
Phir waqt ne apni chaal chali
Dil se wo khumaar-e-preet gaya
Honton se wafa ka geet gaya
Kehne ko wo pehli chaahat thi
Us ka bhi zamaana beet gaya
Hijraa(n) ki shabon se larr larr kar
Dil haar gaya, gham jeet gaya .
