Main apna haal kisi per ayaan nahi kerta
K chot khaa k bhi aah-o-fughaan nahi kerta

Fanaa ki raah pay jaati hai zindagaani khud
Khushi say koi isay raaye-gaan nahi kerta

Ameer-e-sheher say miltay huway ye yaad rahay
Zameen pay saaya kabhi aasmaan nahi kerta

Wo mera tazkirah kerta hai mehfilon mein mager
Jahaan zaroori ho kerna wahaan nahi kerta

Khaber nahi hai mujhay aazmaanay waalon ko
Chiraagh bujhnay say pehlay dhuwaan nahi kerta

Jo apni zaat ko perhnay mein ho magan .....
Bayaan kisi ki bhi wo daastaan nahi kerta
