Ab ke tamam shehar men elaan ho gaya
Ek shaks mari zaat ki pechan ho gaya,

Pehlay to mere naam se mansoob hua wo
Aur phir kitab-e-zeest ka unwaan ho gaya,

Jab sa gaya wo chor kar us din se dil mera
Khali makan ki tarah veeran ho gaya,

Iqrar kar saka na wo chahat kay bawajood
Apni ana ki arr main anjan ho gaya,

Gar wo udas kar gaya hum ko tu kia hua
Hum sa bichar ke wo b tu be jan ho gaya...
